The Wisconsin Library Heritage Center (WLHC) is a program of the Wisconsin Library Association Foundation (WLAF) it was established for the following purposes: • To promote an understanding and appreciation of the history of libraries and
librarianship in Wisconsin by the general public and the Wisconsin library
community. The WLHC was established on March 19, 2008 by action of the WLAF Board based on a report submitted by the WLHC Steering Committee chaired by Larry T. Nix. This website is the temporary home of the WLHC website. Eventually it will become part of the Campaign for Wisconsin Libraries website. The links below should be considered preliminary components of the Wisconsin Library Heritage Center. The concept of implementing a library heritage center in each of the states is discussed here. The concept of a national library heritage center is discussed here.
